With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Madeline Sue Schaefer (Fairview Heights, Illinois), born in Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on May 9, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Emil Francis Simon and Garnet Juanita Simon (Nail); her sons, Steve Schaefer (Joyce Cracchiolo-Schaefer) of Kirkwood, MO and Kevin Schaefer (Robert Pasley) of Sacramento, CA; her granddaughters, Cameron Elizabeth, Allison Rose and Jillian Christine; her sister Pat Berneuter (Ed); her nieces and nephews, Deb Williams, Tammy Frey (Tony), Tina Storll (John), Craig Bernreuter (Julie), Shari Miles (Rick) and Craig Renth (Cindy); and her granddaughter Ally Rose. She was also cherished by many great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Memorial donations in Madeline's name may be made to Mercy Rehab or VITAS Hospice.
