He was predeceased by: his parents, John Frank Nicholson and Ella Carridine Nicholson (Gay); and his brothers, John and Reuben Nicholson. He is survived by: his children, Garry Nicholson (Gina), Dionne Nicholson and Michael Connors; his grandchildren, Steffan Nicholson, Lauren Robinson, Ashley Nicholson, Simone Connors, Marlon Connors, Caleb Connors, Damien Michael Connors, Darrius Nigel Connors and Brandon Connors; and his sister Bernice Cunningham. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
