It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Dearth (Fairview Heights, Illinois), who passed away on December 16, 2021, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his sons, Christopher Dearth and Charles R. Dearth, Jr.; his parents, Ernest and Betty; and his brother Terry Dearth.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn S. Dearth; his daughter Cynthia Hill (Chris) of Belleville, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew Dearth, Raelynn Hill, Lucas Hill, Connor Hill, Lizzi Gower, Caroline Roll, Celiese Roll and Caelyn Roll; his siblings, Max Kinnison (Joan) of Hesperia, CA, Jeff Dearth of Santa Barbara, CA and Lisa Kline of North Carolina; his daughter-in-law Diane Dearth of Las Vegas, NV; and his brother-in-law Albert Martin of Cottonwood, CA.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

He told me about marrying his childhood sweetheart and celebrating 50 years of marriage in Antarctica, sitting at the bottom of the ocean in a submarine. He was proud of being a grandfather.
