He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo and Lola; and his siblings, Bernard Martinez, Ralph Martinez, Frank Gomez, Catherine Rojas, Juanita Herrington and Irene Lopez.
He is survived by: his wife Fran Gomez; his daughters, Frances "Tina" Gomez of Fairmont City, IL, Debra Gomez-Trost (Robert) of Highland, IL and Dawn Stufft (Josh) of North Baltimore, OH; his grandchildren, Jacob Trost, Cole Trost, Mackenzie Trost, Madilyn Stufft and Kylie Stufft; and his friends, Maryann Aleman, Caroline Champion and Josephine Manley. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (2716 N 42nd St, East St Louis, IL 62201). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or to the American Cancer Society.
