With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Anthony J. Ortiz of Fairmont City, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on April 2, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Carmen; his stepfather Angel Sierra; and his siblings, Angel "Beco" Sierra, Carmelita and Elena Ortiz.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Jeanie; his children, Lupe Waldrup (Scott), Anthony Ortiz, Jr., Theresa Merritt (Charles) and Tina Smith (Kenny); and his siblings, Frankie Ortiz (Rosemary) and Mary Lou Barron. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren.
