He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Therese "Teri"; his children, Sean (Melody), Paul (Kristina), Kenneth, Celene, Conor (Nichole) and Patrick Finnegan (Nicole); his grandchildren, Hunter, Claire, Morgan, Logan, Declan, Cuyler, Keefer, Ethan, Emma and Hudson; his parents, Rosemary Finnegan Obrochta and Thomas Finnegan; and his siblings, Rosemary "Kathleen", Patricia Spencer (James), Sharon Mulcahy (Tom), Therese Dillard (Homer), Rosemary Arteaga Murphy, Colleen Climack (James), Brian Finnegan (Kathy), Dennis and Maureen Haak (Dennis).
