He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Schaffer and Katie Schaffer (Gerber); his wife Emma Bittner; and his son Peter Allen Schaffer. He is survived by: his children, Joyce Honegger (Lloyd) of Fairbury, Ron Schaffer (Vicki) of Forrest, Warren Schaffer (Jan) of Lexington, Rebecca Buck (Howard) of Clearwater, FL, Steve Schaffer (Debra) of Saunemin, Lynn Schaffer (Becky) of Fairbury and Kevin Schaffer (Martha) of Fairbury; his brother Richard Schaffer (Elsie); and his sister-in-law Jeanne Bittner. He is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 127 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
