He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Margurite Butler (Guiessen) and William Harland Butler; his wife Ruth P. Willey of Hillsboro; his brother Robert Butler; and his grandson Jacob Butler.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Palen (Edward) of Forrest, Debbie Jank (Bob) of Bella Vista and Randal Butler (Michelle) of Monticello; and his grandchildren, Michael Palen, Zachery Palen, Katelyn Palen, Lyndsey Monahan, Kellee Bosecker, Sarah Edelman, Amanda Butler and Joshua Butler. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
