He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Louis A. Zimmerman and Louise Mueller Zimmerman; his former wife Carolyn Marie Leman; his wife Melba Funk-Steffen; his children, Shelly Steidinger (Ray) of Fairbury, Cinda Fehr (Ivan) of Fairbury, Holly Steidinger (Glen) of Fairbury and Kent Zimmerman (Paulette); his stepchildren, Kenny Steffen (Patsy) of Tangier, IN, Dean Steffen (Shirley) of Butler, IN, Terri Young of Lakewood, CO, Marvin Steffen (Rhea) of Naples, FL, Jon Steffen (Sandy) of Naples, FL, Greg Steffen (Darla) and Leroy; and his son Scott Zimmerman. He was also cherished by twenty five grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, sixty seven great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
