He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his child Dana Zampillo (Joseph); his grandchildren, Jack, Gianna and Duke; his brother Tom Kushenbach (late Kathy); and his brothers-in-law, James Brady and Bruce Brady (Barbara). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
