It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Dewar of Evansville, Illinois, born in West Frankfort, Illinois, who passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Dewar and Agnes Dewar (Ellis); his wife Betty Sue; his son David Dewar; and his siblings, Ina June, Fred, Beverly, Lillian, Betty Jo, Patsy, Mary and Richard.
He is survived by: his sister Charlotte Kornmiller of Logan, Ohio; and his children, Deborah K. Thomas of Evansville, Linda S. Dye of Foley, Denise D. Dewar of Foley and Shawn R. Dewar of Mt. Vernon, IN. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Due to the national health crisis masks are required and social distancing should be maintained.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Owen Dunn American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard.
