Catherine McCormick Hamm Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 16, 2023, at the age of 90, Catherine McCormick Hamm of Evanston, Illinois, born in Holyoke, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John J. D. McCormick and Rena McCormick (Barry); her former husband Ward; and her sisters, Jean, Ann, Janet and Eileen.

She is survived by: her children, Cathy, Ward III (Marge) of Wilmette, IL, John (Joanna) of Santa Rosa, CA and David of Evanston, IL; her grandchildren, Kathleen Smith, Julie Findlay, Allison DiFrancesca, Andie Hamm and Perry Hamm; and her great grandchildren, Jackson Smith, Maia Smith, Ford Smith, Elle Findlay, Caroline Findlay, Reese Findlay, Isabelle DiFrancesca and Beatrice DiFrancesca. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Cathy was a proud survivor of breast cancer, and In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Bears Care, a charitable organization whose mission includes funding local breast and ovarian cancer research and treatment programs.
