He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Wettstein and Rose Weishaupt Wettstein; his wife Mary Jane Schlipf of Eureka; his daughter Alicia Endress (Dan) of Morton; and his sister Donna Lou Wettstein of Eureka.

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church (1570 County Rd 1300 N, Roanoke, IL 61561).

Memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka or Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church.
