It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Edgar Nicholson of Essex, Illinois, born in Athens, Alabama, who passed away on May 13, 2022, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Willard Nicholson. He is survived by: his wife Isabelle Nicholson; his children, Bonnie Hoffman (DJ) of Essex, Neil Nicholson (Alyshia) of Coal City, IL, Mellissa Hollingsworth (Eugene) of Gardner, IL and Penny Nichols (David) of Paris, IL; his grandchildren, Tosha (Logan), Abby, Goldie, Aiden, Paisley, Megan, Carter and Elly; and his great grandchild Savannah.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Reed-Custer Bass Team or the Coal City Bass Team.
