He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan, Sr. Maldonado and Maria Maldonado (Cruz); his wife Elizabeth Maldonado; his daughter Olga Patino; and his brother Juan Maldonado.
He is survived by: his children, Terri Avery (Steve) of Amarillo, Michael Valeriano (Terri) of Godley, Juanita Rodriguez (Edward) of Joliet, Mary Shaw (Mark Murphy) of Gardner and Rosemary Nelson (Richard) of Custer Park, Illinois; his son-in-law Armando Patino of Joliet; his siblings, Maria Gonzalez of Houston, Eva Perez (Roy) of Dallas, Texas, Guadalupe Maldonado of Kingsville, Texas and Adam Maldonado of Kingsville, Texas; and his pet Grady (Louella Hernandez). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Speedy's memory to the Essex Historical Society.
