He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin and Kathryn; his former wife Frances Dean Hanks; his son Joseph McKenna; and his siblings, Tom, Clare, Annette and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Rosenow; his children, Lloyd McKenna (Christine), Shawn McKenna (Donna), Martin McKenna (Kandi) and Kathryn McKenna (Mark Cox) of Alton, IL; and his stepchildren, Carla Jaquet (Roger), Christopher Mortensen (Christine) of Colona, IL, Jeff Mortensen and Jodi Youngberg (Jim Garson). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
