He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Johnson and Mary Johnson (Oberle); his brothers, Everett, Stanley and Darwin Johnson; and his great great grandchild Dawson Scanlan.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Johnson; his children, Ruth Melton (Jim), Roger Johnson (Kris), Diane Chisamore (Jerry) of Rochelle, IL and Scott Johnson Erie (Renee Gorham); and his grandchildren, Kelly Johnston (Tim), Tracy Winckler (Ryan), Leslie Miner (Scott), Jamie Melton (Stormy), Angie Sams, Stefanie Hoover (Sean), Brent Johnson and Ryan Coe (Deanna Black). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Erie Fire and/or Ambulance or the Erie United Methodist Church.
