He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Thompson; and his parents-in-law, Gene Moeller, Susan Moeller, Harry Lyle, Donna Bensenberg, Duane, Beverly Dilenbeck, Karen Schneider and Evelyn Kicksey.
He is survived by: his sons, Danny "Bubba" Brooks (Theresa) and David Brooks (Pamela); his sister Betty Lou Moeller; his grandchildren, Brandon Brooks (Ranee Misfeldt), Tony Brooks (Erin) and Kassandra Melton (Samuel); his great grandchildren, Chance Brooks, Kaleb Brooks, Ian Brooks, Ivy Brooks, Lillian and Henry Misfeldt; his cousins, Jerry, Linda Schneider, Jim Schneider, Gene, Joy McCord, Mike, Cathy Moeller and Diane Bass; and his close friend Anna Wright. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
