She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jessie James and Goldie Weaver Brown (Shelton); her husband Joseph Micheal Hinton; her children, James Hinton (Teresa) of Equality, IL and Melissa Wiseman (Daniel) of Equality, IL; her grandchildren, Jasmine Byers (Dakota), Dakota Hinton, Haley Hinton, Kevin Wiseman, Micheal Wiseman and Joseph Wiseman; her great grandchild Thomas Byers; and her siblings, Bobbie Brown, Jackie Brown, Merry Kathleen Brown and Brenda Griggs. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Shirley's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
