He was predeceased by: his son Larry; and his sisters, Audie Rose, Allene Alldredge, Gladys Pierce, Goldie Jordan, Blanche Meade and Pauline Thomas Miller.
He is survived by: his parents, Louis Franklin and Mary Russell (Darnell); his spouse Agnes L. Rister; and his children, Terry Russell (Cindy) of Enfield, Robert Russell (Tracey) of Norris City and Barbara Heck (Robert) of Dahlgren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Enfield General Baptist Church.
