He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Avers and Alice Avers (Duresh). He is survived by: his wife Majel Avers of Enfield, IL; his daughters, Naoma Caldwell (Craig) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Nina Avers (Billy Bob) of Enfield, IL and Novela Avers of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren, Blake Whetstone (Tricia), Bridgette Weaver (Jeremiah), Daniel Alford (Logan), Patrick Alford, Edward Caldwell (Zoe), Jenica Caldwell and Lavelle Caldwell; and his sister Donna Ekwall of Burbank, CA.. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Darrell's memory to the Darrell Avers Geology Lab Fund at the University of Nebraska Foundation, and will be accepted at the funeral homes.
