He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Hackett and Bernice Mahler Hackett; and his son Tony. He is survived by: his wife Irene Rademaker; his children, Gwen Boyce (Bill) of Havana, Beth Bryan (Paul) of Emden, Greg Hackett of Emden and Josh Hackett of Staunton; his grandchildren, Savanna Hackett of Lincoln, Eli Bryan of Emden, Zach Bryan (Ashley) of San Jose, Andy Boyce (Kierra) of Pleasant Plains, Katie Dial (Ben) of Mapleton and Kellie Boyce (Eli Herron) of Havana; his great grandchildren, Ezra Boyce, Clark Bryan and David Dial; his nephews, Matt of San Jose and Shaun of San Jose; his niece Megan Rademaker of San Jose; and his brother-in-law Vernon Rademaker of San Jose.

Memorials may be made to Sons of the American Legion, Refuge Ranch, or St. Peter's Lutheran Church Preschool.
