He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wilton Young, Sr. and Ingrid Brunswick; and his stepfather Adolf Brunswick. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Young; his children, Annette Sweeney (Duncan) and Sir Eric Young (Christine); and his grandchildren, Trevor Sweeney, Erika Sweeney (Devin) and Alex Young (Rachel).
