He was predeceased by: his parents, John VanLoon and Agnes VanLoon; and his brother Andrew VanLoon. He is survived by: his wife Jill VanLoon; his daughters, Kris VanLoon, Kathy Ferry (John) and Kerry Thomason (Tom); his grandchildren, Kailey Moore (David), Abel Ferry and Clarissa Ferry; his stepgranddaughter Lori Ferguson (Josh); his nieces and nephews, Preston VanLoon (Mary Ann), Randy VanLoon, Sandra Becka, Jennifer Becka, Michael Hamler and David Hamler; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Becka (Donald) and Jacki Hamler (Greg).

Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home (507 S State St, Manhattan, IL 60442).
