It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Watkins (Elmwood, Illinois), who passed away on December 14, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Emken and Pearl Emken (Stewart); her daughter Betty "Diane" Sherman; her grandson Brian Sherman; and her siblings, Dorothy LeMaster, Irene Morse and Richard Emken.
She is survived by: her husband Russell Watkins of Elmwood; her daughter Julie Kay Wherley of Canton; her sons-in-law, Jerald Sherman of LaBelle and Randy Wherley of Lafayette, Indiana; her grandchildren, Jason Sherman (Lacie) of Farmington, Melissa Heckman (Bart) of Chicago, Mike Wherley of Canton, Adam Wherley (Regan) of Havana and Brandon Wherley (Chance) of Lafayette, Indiana; her brother David Emken (Claudia) of Yates City; and her granddaughter-in-law Shantel Sherman of Fort Madison. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
