He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward and Grace; his children, Valerie McAuley (Jason) and Christopher (Joelle); his grandchildren, Kennedey, Kyle, Giuliana and Caring; his siblings, Kathy Kozyra (Don) and Pat; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Livek (Robin) and Fond.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lurie Children's Hospital.
