He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nello Bernardi and Carolina Bernardi (Bartolai); his brother Maurizio; his wife Maureen Ross Bernardi; his children, Lia Wendeln (Casey) and Andrew Bernardi (Caroline); his grandchildren, Ella, Cameron, Adrianna, Carter and Zachary; and his siblings-in-law, Tom (Nancy), Bob (Debby), Kathryn and John Ross (Lisa).
