He is survived by: his son Mark Nelson; his grandchildren, Jackie, Julie and Ryan Stager; and his nieces and nephews, Matt, Paula Duff, Marianne Boyle, Nancy, Bob Sieh, Susan, Eric Olson, Tom, Kathy Nelson and Jennie Nelson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home (435 N York St, Elmhurst, IL 60126). A prayer was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Mary Queen of Heaven Church (426 West Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126).
