With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John J. Conroy Jr. (Elmhurst, Illinois), born in Dixon, Illinois, who passed away on September 23, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father John Conroy (Phyllis Jean). He is survived by: his wife Catherine; his children, John "Jack" Conroy (Anne), Mary Simpson (Joseph), Claire Rutherford (Kevin), Patrick Conroy, Kevin Conroy (Elizabeth), Margaret Mary "Meg" Conroy and Peter Conroy; his grandchildren, Allison, John, Connor, Brendan, Sarah Conroy, William, Charles, Jacqueline, Thomas, George Simpson and Leah Rutherford; and his siblings, Patricia Eckhart (Edward), Douglas Conroy (Julie), Joseph Conroy (Sheila), Stephen Conroy (Julie) and Mary Beth Wulf (Robert).
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gibbons Funeral Home (134 S York St, Elmhurst, IL 60126). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Mary of the Angels Catholic Church (1850 N Hermitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60622). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the schools his seven children attended : Northridge Preparatory School, 8320 Ballard Road, Niles, IL 60714 or Willows Academy, 1015 Rose Avenue, DesPlaines IL 60016.
