He was predeceased by: his spouse Susan E.. He is survived by: his children, Susan Shaffer (Steven), James Sprandel (Kathleen) and Paul Sprandel (Judy); his sibling Ralph H. Sprandel; and his sibling-in-law Tim Simpson (Diane).

In lieu of flowers, Memorials will be appreciated for the Susan Sprandel Endowed Scholarship of Elmhurst College.
