He was predeceased by: his wife Rita C. Shepler; his son Donald Joseph Shepler; and his sister Eileen Majewski. He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Dovel (Craig) and Jennifer Guzman (Steve); his grandchildren, Donald, Eric, Zachary, Sara and Gabrielle; and his sister Dolores Mick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
