He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sons, Frank D. Schmidtke and John P. Schmidtke; his grandchildren, Kelly K. Schmidtke and Kevin A. Schmidtke; his parents, Emil Schmidtke and Helene Schmidtke; and his siblings, Adele Ruff, Gertrude Rehder and Adolf Schmidtke. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
