He is survived by: his children, Michael (Kay), Timothy Hathaway Ellis (Kelley), Debbie (Mark) and Susan Oettle Ellis Grove; his grandchildren, Aaron Gibbs, Adam Gibbs (Tasha), Jamie Schoenbeck (Brian), Julie Draper (Ed), Nicholas Oettle, Kyle Oettle (Jaime), Jack Hathaway, Faye Hathaway, Emma Hathaway, Flicity Howard (Chase), Morgan Simers and Eric Simers; and his great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jade, Ralph, Kale, Emma, Connor, Grey, Cohen, Brooklyn, Lily, Tori and Many.
