He is survived by: his close friend Elaine Heard (Wright) of Elkville; his son Richard Smith of Fairview Heights; his grandson Austin Smith of Missouri; his sister Shelia Gwodzik (Art) of Marion; his friend Tim Cobin of Elkville; and also, Keri Heard of Nashville, IL and Baby.
