He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Bøgehegn and Ove Bøgehegn; and his siblings, Gitte, Ingerlise and Carsten.
He is survived by: his wife Nora; his son Jens Bogehegn (Cara) of Oak Park; his grandchildren, Olivia Flynn, Delaney Flynn, Hayden Bøgehegn and Hunter Bøgehegn; his sister Anne-Marie Berenth-Jensen (Denmark) of Buresø; and his children, Rebild National Park Society and Dania Society.
