LaVerne C. Claps Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of LaVerne C. Claps of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 4, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Wentink and Agatha Wentink (Thomas); her husband Albert Claps; and her sisters, Virginia, Ramona and Arlene.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Fritz (Jim), Albert Claps (Barbara), James Claps, Joanne Wehrmann (Glenn), Thomas Claps, Donna Burgus (Gary), Diane Claps and Christine Ford; and her grandchildren, Jessica Smith (Brian), John Fritz (Charles), Angela Hines (Chris), Adam Fritz, Jennifer Heldt (Kevin), Amanda Dailey (Andrew), Rebecca Poff (Steven), Faith Kolba (Nikolai), Kyle Burgus (Corie), Samantha Diaz (Derick) and Mackenzie Ford. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 6401 Gages Lake Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at 1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Paul the Apostle Church.
