She was predeceased by: her husband Hope Wheeler; her grandson Zachary Wheeler; and her siblings, James Mathis, Shelby Bennett and Arvada McKnight.

She is survived by: her parents, Earnest Mathis and Izel Mathis (McKinney); and her brother Lawrence Mathis (Jetty) of Doniphan, MO.. She is also survived by her children; six grandsons; eight great grandchildren.
