He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Hartwell and Jean Hartwell; and his nephew Ethan Robert Harrison Hartwell. He is survived by: his sons, David Hartwell (Jen) and Daniel Hartwell; his siblings, Sue Kilgore (Michael), Timothy Hartwell (Susan), Woody Hartwell (Gina), Ted Hartwell and Todd Hartwell (Tish); his granddaughters, Adalynn and Grace; and his nieces and nephews, Dayne Hartwell (Nicole), Phil Hartwell (Rachel), Rachel Norris (Kyle), Mike Kilgore, Peter Hartwell, Maggie Hartwell and Tori Hartwell. He is also survived by 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
