It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Suzanne Piper Johnson of Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Piper (Bob) and Ruth Piper (Orth); her husband Bob Johnson (Bob); her sister Mary Piper Hanson; and her brothers-in-law, Duncan Galloway, Kenneth Hanson and James Renus Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Anne Veague (Rick), Eric Johnson (Ann) and Amy Johnson (Vernon Hartman); her grandchildren, Sam Veague (Merit), Maia Veague (Andrew Franks), Thomas Veague (Natalie Copeland), Michael Johnson (Victoria) and Piper Zhou (Yiwei); her sister Janice Piper Galloway; and her sister-in-law Carol Johnson. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and her beloved caregiver.
Sue's family requests exactly what she would ask – that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given in her name to PADS, All People's Interfaith Pantry, the Community Crisis Center, the Salvation Army, or the YWCA, all of Elgin, or to the Chariton Public Library.
