He was predeceased by: his son Jeff Smith (late Freda Smith); and his parents, William Smith and Maggie Smith. He is survived by: his wife Freda Rainelle Bolen; his children, Clarissa Smith of Shady Spring, WV, Jason Smith (Melinda) of Daniels, WV, David Smith of Shady Spring, WV and Rick Hatfield (Teresa) of Belvedere, IL.; his grandchildren, Kylie Elmore (Zack) of Salisbury, NC, Courtney Cline of Parkersburg, WV, Silas Sizemore of Beckley, WV, Katie Cline of Parkersburg, WV, Summer Smith of Daniels, WV, Kindal Smith of Flat Top, WV, Corey, Keith and Haley Hatfield of Belvedere, IL.; and his great grandchildren, Lennox Elmore, Kaia Elmore and Dakota Hatfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
