Sherrie L. Merchut Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sherrie L. Merchut of Elgin, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 31, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Sherrie farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Sherrie is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, J. C. Fowler and Betty Jo Fowler; her husband Richard R. Merchut; and her sister Dianne Melahn. She is survived by: her daughter Shelby Lynn Merchut; her stepson Daniel Merchut Malone (Amy); her grandchildren, Gabriel Lucente and Ellie Jo Lucente; and her siblings, Gregory Fowler (Amy) and Donna Hertel (Don).
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (504 W Main St, West Dundee, IL 60118). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial Washington Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery (39W732 Highland Ave, Elgin, IL 60124).
