She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Johnson and Lucille Johnson; her brothers, John, Cecil and Milton Johnson; and her son Mark Steele.

She is survived by: her daughter Cecil (Lucille Johnson); her husband James Steele; her son Michael Steele; her granddaughter Mercedes Dorsey; and her sister Vivian Steele. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
