He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schmidgall and Anna Schmidgall (Lindoerfer); and his siblings, David Schmidgall and Madelyn Tobler. He is survived by: his wife Hilda Schmidgall (Ortiz); his children, Timothy J. Schmidgall and Teri A. Schmidgall of Elgin; his sister JoAnn Sauder (Schmidgall) of Tremont, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Ortiz of Elgin and Mike Ortiz of Denver, CO.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
