It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Luisa Matias of Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Martinez Ortega (Juana Herrera Moreno) and Maria. She is survived by: her husband Asuncion; her children, Nancy (Jorge), Tony (Cristina) and Nelly (Luis); her siblings, Carmen (Isidro), Paulino, Concepcion, Martin (Ludivina), Juan, Julio and Francisca; and her grandchildren, Ebely, Ilario, Amelia and Abel. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
