It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Luisa Matias of Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Martinez Ortega (Juana Herrera Moreno) and Maria. She is survived by: her husband Asuncion; her children, Nancy (Jorge), Tony (Cristina) and Nelly (Luis); her siblings, Carmen (Isidro), Paulino, Concepcion, Martin (Ludivina), Juan, Julio and Francisca; and her grandchildren, Ebely, Ilario, Amelia and Abel. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary Church of Elgin (400 Fulton St, Elgin, IL 60120). Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Symonds-Madison Funeral Home (305 Park St, Elgin, IL 60120). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
