With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria Esther Montalvo (Elgin, Illinois), who passed away on February 18, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Melendez and Esther Munoz; and her brothers, Jesse Melendez and Benito Melendez. She is survived by: her husband Jose Guadalupe Montalvo; her children, Tony, Maria and John; and her granddaughter Marina. She is also survived by husband, children and their spouses, grandchild, and a host of extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Diabetes Association.
