Joy C. Allen Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 12, 2025, at the age of 87, Joy C. Allen of Elgin, Illinois, born in Arlington Heights, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Rodney Allen; her parents, Alvin Zaeske and Cleo Zaeske (Bennett); her siblings, Paul Zaeske and Hope Zaeske; and her son-in-law Steve Brezinski.
She is survived by: her brothers, Bryan Zaeske of Fort Atkinson, WI, Bruce and Brad Zaeske of Coon Rapids, MN; her children, James Genz Jr. (Diane) of Sycamore, IL and Janet Brezinski (late Steve) of Owatanna, MN; and her grandchildren, Nicole Henryson (Brandon), Mistie Peterson, William Genz (Mary), Carrie Shaikes (Darin), Shannon Strader (Pat), Patti Hunt (Ken), Jordan Fens (Darren), Hollis Wilkins (Colleen), Nicole McRickard (Brian), Dr. Stephanie Brezinski (Anthony Murphy) and Lindsey Brezinski (Danny Ziebell). She is also survived by 31 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Wounded Warriors or Heifer International.
