He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Scheitlin and Anna Scheitlin (Foell); his wife Joan Levy; and his siblings, Robert Scheitlin, Marian Schumacher, Doris Rocke and Katherine Schmidgall.

He is survived by: his children, William Scheitlin (Debbie) of Elgin, IL, Steven and LeeAnn Veinotte (Steven); his sister Carol Sinn of Fort Scott, Kansas; his siblings-in-law, Jean Scheitlin of Elgin, IL and Norman Rocke; his grandchildren, Jacob Scheitlin, Phillip Scheitlin, Lena Hart and Eleisha Spahr; and his great grandchildren, Coralean, Rreya and Elcy Hart.
