It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marietta Briddick (Eldorado, Illinois), born in Equality, Illinois, who passed away on April 23, 2018, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She has authored two cookbooks; 'The Joy of Sharing, Recipes from Marietta's Kitchen" and "More Recipes from Marietta's Kitchen, Homemade With Love". In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by a daughter: Elizabeth Adams of Normal, a son: Steven (Christina) Briddick of VA, three grandchildren: Kahlus (Amber) Adams of Normal, Beth Thomas of VA, Ashley (Justin) Crawford of VA, three great grandchildren: Leya, Lexus and Carter, sister-in-law: Marilyn King of Eldorado, other family members: Carol King of DeSoto, nieces: Traci (Mike) Yakimisky of Algonquin, Morgan (Jason) Moser of Carbondale, Several great nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother: Halsie Gene King. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Eldorado, 1125 Walnut Street, with Rev. Dennis Robinson officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday, April 27, 2018 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, and 10-11 am at the First Christian Church on Saturday immediately prior to funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Missions fund and will be accepted at the church and the funeral home.
