He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Ekstrom and Doris Ekstrom (Lant); his son Cody Ray Ekstrom; his parents-in-law, Frank and Dot Hare; and his brothers-in-law, Paul Einwich and Ted Hare.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Ekstrom; his son Luke Ekstrom; his grandson Gage Ekstrom; his siblings, Rick Ekstrom (Sue) and Donna Einwich; and his brothers-in-law, Frank, Charles and Albert Hare.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in John's name.
