He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Garrett and Lena M. Huff Garrett; his siblings, Ronnie, Jimmy, Donnie and Wanda Garrett; and his sister-in-law Sandy Garrett.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce A. Kearfott; his children, Angela Garrett of El Paso and John Garrett of Des Moines, IA; his grandchildren, Katrina Schmitt (John) of Secor, Trevor Garrett of El Paso, Lesleigh Garrett of Secor, Hunter Garrett of Des Moines, IA and Evan Garrett of Des Moines, IA; his great grandchildren, Amber Schmitt, Naomi Aldrich, Oliver Kucharski and John Garrett; his siblings, Jane Cramer (Bud) of Hudson, Roy Garrett of Hudson, Connie Edwards (Danny) of Hudson, Dianne Nevius of Hudson and Russell Garrett (Linda) of Tiline, KY; and his sisters-in-law, Frances Garrett of Waynesville, Janet of Normal and Margaret Garrett of Normal.
